Breaking: Manassas City teacher from Stafford County charged with attempted sexual assault.

NBC4 in Washington, D.C.: Teacher Accused Of Attempted Sex Assault Of 13-Year-Old Girl:

A teacher with Manassas City Public Schools is being held without bond on charges of attempted indecent liberties with a child and misdemeanor sexual battery, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Ted Johnson, 48, was charged on Feb. 18. Authorities said a 13-year-old girl complained that Johnson had attempted to sexually assault her.

A Stafford County detective and officers from the Manassas City Police Department executed a search warrant at Osbourn High School and Mayfield Intermediate School and seized Johnson’s work computers.

The Manassas City Public Schools Web site lists Johnson as a band teacher at Mayfield and a fine arts teacher at Osbourn.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office wants to know if there are any other victims. Anyone who knows of any similar incidents involving Johnson should call the sheriff’s office at 540-658-4450.
